As graduation approaches, seniors involved in chorus and band reflect on their time in these departments. Maddie Pasquale, the drum major for the East Pennsboro Area High School band for the past two years, participates in chorus, and marching band. Although Pasquale enjoys music, and the people in the music department, she will only continue with chorus after graduating. Her favorite memory from being in the music department was the trip the students took to Walt Disney World last year. Pasquale advises younger students to “practice their music, ask questions, and pay attention during class,” as this will be beneficial to their grade.
Danielle Kreiger, an EPAHS senior, has been involved with band since freshman year and chorus since sophomore year. Kreiger has played the flute since fourth grade, and enjoys playing because it is “rewarding and fun.” She will not be involved with chorus or band after graduating, but will miss the people from the music departments because they were “like family” to her. Her favorite memory from being in chorus and band was the Disney trip, because it was a fun experience for the students. Kreiger says, “Students should practice their music because it’s very important and will help them in the long run.”
